In order to assign someone a corrective action, that person must be an employee in IndustrySafe, and an IndustrySafe user.
When you create a Corrective Action, you assign responsibility for that action to someone by selecting them as a responsible party. The Responsible Party will receive an email alert letting them know that they have been assigned a Corrective Action. If you select a Second or Third Level Responsible Party, they will be alerted if the corrective action goes over due.
If someone is not a system user, they cannot access the system. Therefore, the responsible party drop down boxes only display system users, as it would not benefit either party (investigator and responsible party) to attribute a corrective action to someone who could not access the record in IndustrySafe to record that it was corrected or update the action during the correction process. This differs from incident records, where you can select an involved employee from a list of all available employees.
As a note, access to the IndustrySafe software is only available to AECOM employees. Therefore, you cannot assign a corrective action in IndustrySafe to contractors, subcontractors, or other third parties.
If you need to assign a Corrective Action to someone who isn't listed in the responsible party drop down field, please send an email with the person's name and email address to industry.safe@aecom.com, stating you would like them added as a user.
