Every employee who accesses the IndustrySafe software is assigned to a user profile. The user profile dictates what data that particular employee can or cannot access and what types of notifications they receive. 

Each user is also assigned to a hierarchy, which restricts access to data to a specific location or locations. The hierarchy also filters notifications to only those generated within the user's hierarchy. You can think of a user profile as "what" you can do, and a user hierarchy as "where" you can do it.
