Enable DOM Storage in Internet Explorer

DOM (Document Object Model storage) is a software set of protocols used for storing data in a web browser. This type of web storage supports persistent data storage which is very similar to the internet "cookie", but with a greatly enhanced storage capability. IndustrySafe uses DOM storage to store domain specific information about itself during your web session. In short, this governs how certain types of data are stored during multiple tab or multiple window viewing sessions of the site.

Without this functionality enabled in Internet Explorer, you may encounter difficulty saving information or uploading attachments in some modules. You can easily correct this by enabling DOM storage from Internet Explorer's "Internet Options". The following shows how to enable this in Internet Explorer (note the visual interface may differ on your machine, but the target paths are still the same regardless of your version of Internet Explorer):

1. In Internet Explorer, click on the cogwheel in the upper right corner (under the "X") and then click Internet Options.

2. Click on the Advanced tab, then scroll down to the Security section under Settings.

3. Check the "Enable DOM Storage box" and click on "OK".
